Life in Little Acorns
The children in Nursery are looking forward to a great year of learning.
We have a focused session on, Phonics, Mathematics, Reading and Writing.
Through our curriculum we offer opportunities for learning about Understanding the World, Physical Development, Expressive Arts and Design, Communication and Language and Personal, Social, and Emotional Development.
Please ensure your child has the appropriate clothing for the weather to continue to enjoy learning outside. For the colder weathers children will need hats, scarves and gloves. Wet weathers children will need wellington boots and for warmer weather children will need a sun hat. All of your child's belongings need to be labelled with their names.
At Pinehurst Primary School we aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum that provides the children with opportunities to Experience, Excel and Enjoy. We aim to foster a lifelong love of learning, through delivery a twenty first century education. A cross curricular approach to learning encourages the children to be independent, reflective learners and responsible citizens. We work closely with parents to support children’s learning.
The Prime Areas that we will be developing in Nursery are:
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
Communication and Language
The Specific Areas in Nursery:
Understanding the World
Expressive Arts & Design
This term our topics include:
Signs of Spring
In Little Acorns we like to follow the children's interests.
This term we will learn about what happens during spring and we will discuss the changes in the weather.
Please see our Curriculum newsletter at the bottom of the page for more information and other files to support Spring Term 2 learning at home.
It will be a busy and fun filled term of learning.
How can I help and support my child at school?
Homework in Little Acorns
Reading is encouraged daily and should be recorded in your child’s reading record book, whether this be a school library book or their own. Reading books are changed twice weekly for the children to take home and enjoy with family.
