Plus Dane tenants and their household members are being offered the chance to gain  a free BTEC certificate in work Skills Level 1 – that can help with:


searching and applying for jobs online and within the hidden labour market

  1. preparing for interviews
  2. career progression and goal planning
  3. working as part of a team
  4. tailoring your CV to suit different jobs
  5. rights & responsibilities at work
  6. solving work related problems


Participants must be 19+ and currently claiming JSA / Income Support / Lone Parents ESA.  

After the course, which runs from 6th to 14th July (10:00 – 2:00) at St Columba’s Pinehurst Road Anfield, participants will have the opportunity to go on to complete a BTEC in Health 7 Safety (2 day course), CSCS test & card, food hygiene certificate, Sage 50 Introductory Level Accounts, or basic IT (for the over 40s).   

People who successfully complete the course will be able to make an application to our ‘Move On Fund’ for help in addressing barriers to work (further training, interview clothes, equipment to get them started in self-employment or a new job).

Home Work

 

Class 1  

Reading books will be sent home every night and need to be returned every day. They will be changed at least once a week.

 

Class 1/2 

Monday - Comprehension/Grammar/Punctuation/ Spelling & Letter formation to be handed in the next day.

Tuesday - Maths to be handed in the next day  

Reading books will be sent home every night and need to be returned every day. They will be changed at least once a week. 

 

Class 2

Monday - Comprehension/Grammar/Punctuation/ Spelling & Letter formation to be handed in the next day.

Tuesday - Maths to be handed in the next day  

Reading books will be sent home every night and need to be returned every day. They will be changed at least once a week. 

 

Class 3

Friday - homework will be expected in the following Thursday. and spelling text is the following Friday. 

Reading books will be sent home every Monday and Friday  

 

Class 3/4 

Friday  -  Maths - expected back the following Thursday 

Spellings - Tested on the following Friday

Literacy - expected back the following Thursday

Class 4

All children are encouraged to practice their times tablets every night (approx 10 mins) & will be tested in school 2-3 times per week.  

Reading books are available as and when your child needs them. (own books are also fine) Home reading diaries should be returned on a Friday.  

 

Class 5/6

Tuesday - Writing & Spelling (return Thursday)

Thursday - Maths (return Monday)

Friday - Reading (return Tuesday)

Spellings will be tested on Thursdays

Access arrangements 

 

Our school is on 2 floors - we offer a lift to support any children who require this. All our classrooms are wheel chair accessible. We offer a variety of ways of supporting children with any disability so they can access the full curriculum.

Parents/Carers, we offer a breakfast club from 7.45am, if you would like to join the breakfast club please contact the school office on the number at the bottom of the website.
We also have a large variety of after school clubs that change on a half termly basis keep your eye open for letters and newsletters your child brings home.
